-Summer Sunday Solstice Sojourn Series is being well-received. Not only do people appreciate our presence when we visit the churches but Spiritualists across the state are talking about us. Mission accomplished!
-the Saturday Garage/Yard Sale is going very well- People stop and some buy and some just talk and one even came to church. We are being noticed along with making money. Mission Accomplished again! We will continue this until we stop😊
-August 31- Fundraiser !!! Car wash and more! Chris and Angel have buckets & hoses. Terri looking into soap.
Unfinished Business:
-Angel’s son has mowed, Aurora weed whacked some, Diane planted 200,000 wild flower seeds in the ditch-nothing growing yet. We hope to squeak by till the end of mowing season and will discuss next year’s arrangements as time approaches.
-Insurance company sent check for $5000 and we are waiting on two more estimates to bandaid the roof. They said they will send another $3000 once work complete. Should I stop at Roofing Solutions (half a mile from church) to see if they can give us a quote on a bandaid repair?
-We are looking into new oil tanks- waiting for Dead River to call back to make appointment and waiting on PJ to make appointment. Terri found an oil tank online and Angel has a call into Dead River to see if it will work. Also exploring infrared heaters for sanctuary during winter.
Sold the car- $3000 to a lovely young first year nurse at UMO
Facia boards on garage #1 – will double check which garage and where the painted boards are for the repair. Diane will investigate this weekend when at camp.
Possibly renting out center for income- if the perfect person comes along we will know it. Meeting with Scott’s Automotive to discuss a possible mechanic’s garage in one of the rear garages.
3pm Church Services- How are they going? – everyone at the board meeting talked about how so many people have come forward to compliment the Healing Light Church on changing our Sunday service time, how we are visiting other churches and making a difference, how we are showing people that Spiritualism can be fun when you create community and share time filled with uplifting laughter. We have learned a lot from other churches this summer. We are also attracting new faces.
Members’ Meeting-
Bylaw-change- back to 5 trustees
Positions to be filled Terri Kovac (currently Trustee) is running for President, Angel Downing (currently acting treasurer) is running for Treasurer and Christopher James Nelson Sr. is running for trustee. If anyone else desires to run they will let us know and we can add them to the ballots.
